Does Hglab use it's own Mercurial or one installed to server?

Which of following is correct?
1. Hglab has built-in Mercurial and Mercurial can be update only by updating Hglab
2. Hglab uses machine's Mercurial and updating that Mercurial is enough.

We would like to update Mercurial but not Hglab.

    Lassi,

Starting from 1.10, HgLab uses system installation of Mercurial. As long as
you're updating to Mercurial 3.6 or later (which I'm sure you do), it's all
    well and good.
